Delta Dental of California, the state's largest dental plan with 25+ million enrollees and 106,000 dentist locations, faced a massive, document‑intensive challenge: processing millions of claims and managing hundreds of millions of enrollee and provider documents while needing fast, reliable access across portals, the contact center and core business workflows to speed claims, onboarding and provider credentialing.

DDC implemented Alfresco Content Services for scalability and integration, embedding it in claims processing, enrollee and provider portals, Salesforce and Pega workflows. The platform now manages a 318M‑document repository with ~132,000 uploads per weekday, delivers sub‑second search and retrieval, shortens call times and adjudication, streamlines onboarding and document sharing across teams, and has enabled ongoing expansion of content integrations.
