Caceis Investor Services - Customer Case Study
CACEIS, part of the Crédit Agricole group and a leading global custodian and fund administrator, needed to centralize and secure client records to support anti‑money‑laundering controls across its European, North American and Asian operations. The project faced major technical challenges: high‑volume scanning (inconsistent formats, staples/bindings), recovering metadata from some 800,000 scanned pages, and replacing an outdated archiving system while ensuring integration with existing business applications.
Working with Alfresco (and integrating EMC Centera for long‑term retention), CACEIS implemented a single EDM platform with subject‑oriented Alfresco Share interfaces, large‑scale document import and application connectors for Java, .NET and SharePoint. The new platform went live mid‑2011, providing a secure, searchable archive and migration of legacy data; ongoing work includes OCR/fax automation and scaling to support some 50 million documents.
