A Alfresco Case Study
The PGA TOUR, a nonprofit that runs more than 120 tournaments a year, struggled with fragmented document workflows across 1,300 users and many remote sites. Agronomists recorded green speeds on paper then manually updated spreadsheets back at the office, marketing couldn’t efficiently search and repurpose PowerPoint slides, and contracts and agreements were hard to find, route and negotiate — all while the organization needed role-based access that integrated with Microsoft Office.
Working with partner Blue Fish Development Group, the TOUR expanded its Alfresco deployment — moving staff to Alfresco Share and adding Alfresco Workdesk — enabling real-time editing from the course and seamless Office integration. Alfresco is now the primary repository, improving version control, searchability (via metadata on presentations), contract routing, and process efficiency; marketing and legal teams save hours on manual work, and the solution has proven a cost-effective, centralized platform for document management.
