Cisco Meraki Networking Solution Gives New Vision to Nonprofit

Saving Sight, a Missouri nonprofit focused on eye banking, cornea donation, and vision services, needed to move from an MPLS network to a higher-bandwidth fiber solution while also replacing routers that were nearing end of life. Vendor Alexander Open Systems (AOS) introduced Cisco Meraki networking as a simpler, more modern option for the organization’s distributed sites.

Alexander Open Systems implemented Cisco Meraki wireless routers and switches across Saving Sight’s locations, enabling local Internet access and faster connectivity. The upgrade improved manageability and allowed sites to be converted quickly, with staff reporting much faster access to patient charts and less downtime. Saving Sight also benefited from AOS’s networking expertise, which helped identify and resolve issues with the Internet provider.
