A Alertus Technologies Case Study
Vanderbilt University, a private research campus in Nashville with 235 buildings over 340 acres and roughly 13,700 students plus 9,500 faculty and staff, needed a more comprehensive way to meet the Department of Education’s requirement for timely warnings to protect its large, residential community. To address that challenge the university implemented Alertus Technologies’ unified mass notification system, using Alertus Desktop Notifications and the IP Text-to-Speech (TTS) interface alongside Everbridge for activation.
Alertus Technologies integrated facility-based alerts with Everbridge so administrators can centrally activate alerts that appear on every campus computer in seconds and play voice/tone warnings outdoors via an upgraded seven-speaker PA/TTS system. The combined solution improved Vanderbilt’s ability to reach thousands across 235 buildings and 340 acres rapidly, strengthened tornado and emergency response, and provided reliable, measurable delivery of critical messages campus-wide.
