Case Study: University of Indianapolis achieves campus-wide emergency alert coverage with Alertus Technologies

A Alertus Technologies Case Study

Preview of the University of Indianapolis Case Study

University of Indianapolis - Customer Case Study

The University of Indianapolis faced a bomb threat in 2016 and discovered that its existing Watchdog Alerts (Rave Mobile Safety) text, email and voice notifications left blind spots across campus—areas with poor cellular reception and people without phones. Seeking an additional, more reliable layer, UIndy Director and Chief of Police David Shelby selected Alertus Technologies and its solutions, including Alertus Desktop Notification and the wall-mounted Alert Beacon, to close those gaps.

Alertus Technologies deployed hardwired Alert Beacons and Alertus Desktop Notification integrated with Rave/Watchdog so alerts could be sent from a single platform. During a statewide tornado drill the system activated faster than endpoints relying on cellular or internet service, provided coverage to previously unreachable areas such as basements, and gave UIndy confidence to expand with more beacons and outdoor speakers.
