The Search for a High-quality Mass Notification System

Packaging Corporation of America, a Lake Forest, Illinois–based packaging manufacturer, needed a reliable mass notification solution after relying on email and facing increased safety concerns in hazardous manufacturing environments. After evaluating options, PCA selected Alertus Technologies’ Alertus System to provide flexible, integrated and automated emergency notifications across its facilities.

Alertus Technologies implemented the Alertus System with site-specific deployments (12 of PCA’s 130 sites to date), integrating with existing devices and using TV screen overrides so floor workers without computers receive alerts. PCA uses Alertus Desktop to deliver facility-wide emergency notifications in seconds and the Alertus Activator App to let authorized managers trigger alerts from their phones; the system has proven economical, simple, and reliable while enabling targeted, faster communications and routine administrative announcements.
