A Alertus Technologies Case Study
St. Paul’s Grammar School, an IB World School in Cranebrook, NSW with about 860 students on a 70‑acre campus, faced confusion and safety gaps from a siren‑only intruder alarm system that used two tones for lockdown and evacuation but lacked clear “all clear” messaging and a way to efficiently cancel false alarms. To deliver critical context to staff and students during incidents, the school chose Alertus Technologies and its Alertus System and Alertus Desktop (via the Safe‑In‑Seconds initiative) to add on‑screen, mobile and more granular notification options.
Alertus Technologies integrated the Alertus System with the existing intruder alarm, added desktop notifications, mobile alerts, hardwired trigger buttons, wall‑mounted Alertus Alert Beacons and a USB Panic Button, and centralized message initiation so alerts trigger the correct siren plus detailed messages. The result was faster, clearer and more reliable emergency communications—reducing confusion from false alarms, ensuring staff receive timely alerts when away from screens, and giving the school flexible, scalable tools that stakeholders have begun expanding across their emergency response plan.
