St. Benedict's Preparatory School - Customer Case Study

St. Benedict's Preparatory School, an urban campus in Newark, NJ with 554 students and 51 faculty across 15 buildings, needed a faster, clearer way to alert everyone during emergencies amid rising concerns about school shootings. With no PA system and reliance on air horns plus a Honeywell email/text system, the school selected Alertus Technologies (deploying the Alertus Alert Beacon® system) to provide a more comprehensive, easy-to-use campuswide notification solution.

Alertus Technologies installed wall-mounted Alert Beacons tied into four campus TV screens and the existing horn infrastructure so alerts are sounded, flashed, and displayed instantly across the 12-acre campus. The Alertus deployment extended clear notifications to all 554 students and 51 faculty throughout 15 buildings, increased staff confidence in emergency response, and set the school on a path to expand beacon coverage to every floor and explore fire-panel integration.
