Gilman School, a private boys’ preparatory school in Baltimore with about 1,033 students on a 68‑acre urban campus, needed a more comprehensive emergency notification solution to reliably reach faculty, staff and students during critical incidents. After high‑profile school shootings prompted a review of gaps in coverage, Gilman turned to Alertus Technologies to extend and integrate its existing public address and phone systems for faster, campus‑wide alerting.

Alertus Technologies implemented its Alertus system with a text‑to‑speech (TTS) module and centralized command-and-control for speakers and PA systems, and integrated with Gilman’s e2Campus text/email platform to enable pre‑recorded voice and text scenarios via mobile app. The solution simplified activation to a one‑step process, improved notification coverage and timeliness across the 68‑acre campus (serving over 1,000 people), and helps ensure alerts are delivered quickly when every second matters.
