Case Study: Episcopal High School achieves instant campus-wide emergency alerts with Alertus Technologies

A Alertus Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Episcopal High School Case Study

Integrating with Existing Infrastructure and Providing Multiple Notification Options

Episcopal High School, a 100% residential boarding school in Alexandria, VA with 435 students on a 130‑acre campus, needed an emergency notification system that could provide complete, immediate alerting across academic, residential and athletic areas and integrate with its existing siren—especially for threats like active shooters. The school selected Alertus Technologies to replace a single-point siren and extend 24/7, campus-wide alerting for students, faculty and families.

Alertus Technologies deployed a multilayered solution—67 Alert Beacons, integration with the existing siren, text-to-speech loudspeakers on athletic fields, and computer-initiated alerts—delivering pre-scripted messages plus automatic SMS and email notifications. The system lets anyone activate an Alert Beacon from anywhere, covers 25 buildings across the campus, and has become the backbone of Episcopal High School’s emergency response by enabling faster, targeted communications and supporting both emergency and non-emergency campus-wide messages.
