A Alertus Technologies Case Study
Daviess County Public Schools, serving 11,490 students across 20 buildings and 463 square miles in Daviess County, KY, faced unreliable, costly and fragmented emergency communications that left staff dependent on phones, radios and email. To achieve a centrally controlled, instant mass-notification capability, the district turned to Alertus Technologies and its emergency notification solution, including the Alertus Alert Beacon® and panic-button functionality.
Alertus Technologies installed one Alert Beacon in the office of every school and integrated the system with the district’s wide area network and central server, enabling constantly monitored, instant alerts and silent panic activations that notify central offices and trained staff (and trigger 911 contact when needed). The deployment linked all 20 buildings without new wiring, eliminated conflicting messages, improved response coordination across the district, and provided dependable notification coverage for the district’s 11,490 students and staff.
