Case Study: Baytown achieves building-wide emergency alerts and improved occupant safety with Alertus Technologies

A Alertus Technologies Case Study

Preview of the Baytown Case Study

Emergency Notification to Safeguard Citizens and City Employees

The Greater Baytown‑Chambers County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) in Baytown needed a reliable way to alert people inside public buildings—schools, the courthouse, City Hall and other places of assembly—because existing outdoor sirens and mass callouts were not consistently heard or seen indoors. While evaluating options, Baytown identified the Alertus Emergency Mass Notification System from Alertus Technologies as a solution they had seen successfully used by a neighboring jurisdiction.

Alertus Technologies deployed more than 80 wall‑mounted Alertus Alert Beacons across schools, Lee College, City Hall and the Chambers County Courthouse and integrated them with the community siren and mass‑callout systems. The Audible/visual beacons display custom messages, sound loud tones and flash lights, can be activated by emergency dispatchers, are tested weekly, and eliminate the need to log into multiple systems—resulting in immediate indoor notifications, streamlined single‑point activation progress, and a measurable rollout of 80+ devices improving occupant safety.
