A Alertus Technologies Case Study
Daemen College, a 35‑acre campus in Amherst, NY with about 2,600 students, needed greater redundancy for emergency notification beyond its primary text and email systems—without forcing staff to juggle multiple platforms. To meet that need the college selected Alertus Technologies’ Emergency Mass Notification System, deploying Alertus Desktop Notification, the Alertus Recipient App, and a digital‑signage override that integrates with their impulseGUIDE network.
Alertus Technologies integrated with Daemen’s existing alerting tools so campus safety can send unified, template‑driven messages to desktops, mobile devices and digital signs from a single console, with desktop alerts able to appear campus‑wide in seconds. The system was validated during a large active‑shooter drill involving nearly 100 campus and public‑safety participants, which helped identify gaps to address and informed next steps—promoting the Alertus app to students and adding Alertus panic buttons—to strengthen overall emergency readiness.
