Boston Medical Center, affiliated with Boston University, faced the need for a campus‑wide emergency notification capability to coordinate alerts across hospital and university command centers, reach staff as well as patients and visitors not included in call directories, and provide reliable notifications for high‑containment NEIDL lab workers. To address these gaps they evaluated and selected Alertus Technologies for a comprehensive emergency mass‑notification solution.

Alertus Technologies implemented a unified facility notification system that links multiple command centers and can send instant, facility‑wide or targeted alerts across multiple modalities; the deployment included 30 wall‑mounted Alert Beacon® devices in the NEIDL that sound, flash, and display messages. The Alertus solution closed coverage gaps left by paging and call directories, improved coordination with Boston University, and provided immediate, multi‑modal notification for staff, patients, visitors and high‑containment lab personnel.
