A Communication Solution for Effective Reception Across Campus

North Carolina State University faced a gap in emergency communications where poor cell reception in many campus buildings left students and staff unreachable during imminent threats. To fill that gap, the university turned to Alertus Technologies and deployed the Alertus Desktop Notification through the Alertus Desktop Donation Initiative to add a visual, full-screen alert component to campus computers.

Alertus Technologies implemented Alertus Desktop Notification on more than 7,000 school-managed desktops across the main campus, Centennial Campus and the College of Veterinary Medicine, providing instant, facility-wide pop-up alerts in seconds. The system integrated with existing notifications, became standard protocol for imminent threats (tornado warnings, armed assaults) and extended emergency reach into classrooms, offices and labs that previously lacked reliable cell coverage.
