Canterbury School, a college preparatory, coeducational private day and boarding school in New Milford, CT, was using an older wireless mass notification system that was difficult to upgrade and maintain. Before switching to Alertus Technologies in 2020, only one person could initiate an emergency or notification at a time, which limited how the school handled alerts.

Alertus Technologies provided a network-based system built around Alertus Server, Desktop Notification, Alert Beacons, IP Text-to-Speech Speakers, and the Activator App. Canterbury School said the new setup was more scalable and user-friendly, made it easier to initiate alerts, deploy devices, and run tests, and supported CAP notices to other systems such as digital displays.
