Greater Baytown - Customer Case Study

Greater Baytown, the Chambers County Local Emergency Planning Committee in Texas, needed a better way to alert people inside public buildings during emergencies. The group already used outdoor sirens, mass callouts by phone and email, and social media, but recognized that those methods did not reliably reach occupants indoors in schools, the courthouse, and other public facilities.

Greater Baytown worked with Alertus Technologies to deploy more than 80 Alertus Alert Beacons throughout public schools and publicly owned buildings, including Baytown City Hall and the Chambers County Courthouse. The system adds loud tones, flashing lights, and custom messages, and it integrates with existing warning siren software so dispatchers can activate multiple notification channels more easily from a single point.
