A AlertMedia Case Study

How Greyhound Keeps Thousands of Drivers Connected and Safe 24/7

Greyhound, the largest intercity bus operator in North America with about 6,000 employees across 230 locations, faced a critical communications gap: dispersed, mobile drivers who lacked company email or phones and relied on word of mouth and an automated hotline. To close that gap Greyhound turned to AlertMedia and its emergency communication software — a two-way, multi-channel mass communication platform — to reach drivers with timely safety, operational, and corporate messages.

AlertMedia deployed voice, SMS, email and two‑way messaging with read receipts, dynamic groups, surveys and photo-capable replies, and a simple UI that required no training. After a successful pilot the platform was rolled out to all employees (and adoption surged once drivers received company phones), enabling Greyhound to instantly and accurately notify nearly 6,000 field and corporate staff across 230 locations, improve safety and operational response, raise driver engagement, and streamline targeted, trackable communications — all supported by AlertMedia’s 24/7 customer support.
