A Alepo Case Study

m:tel Deploys Alepo’s Carrier Wifi to Launch Cellular Offload and New Public Wifi Plans

m:tel, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leading telecommunications provider, wanted to improve 3G and LTE capacity by offloading traffic to WiFi while also launching new paid and free WiFi offerings. Its legacy captive portal could not support features like mobile subscriber authentication, social login, vouchers, or location-specific branded portals, so it turned to Alepo and its Carrier WiFi solution.

Alepo implemented Carrier WiFi with a convergent AAA and WiFi Service Management Platform (SMP) to enable seamless subscriber offload, two-click authentication, prepaid/postpaid billing integration, and flexible captive portals for affiliates and sponsors. The result was reduced cellular load and operating costs, a better customer experience, and significantly increased WiFi usage and revenue, with new subscribers making up a large share of users soon after launch.
