Illos Piano Restorations, a Buffalo-based piano shop, was using a website built on a purchased Bootstrap 3 theme. This theme was inefficient, loading 13 stylesheets and 18 scripts, including plugins like Revolution Slider and jQuery. The site also had markup validation errors and was not optimally structured for its dual audience of local customers and long-distance restoration clients.

AldoMedia completely rebuilt the site, replacing the theme with a hand-written, minimal codebase consisting of one CSS file, one vanilla JavaScript file, and their own accessibility toolkit. The new site features a responsive design that effectively serves both customer types, self-hosted fonts, and an inline SVG sprite. While no specific speed metrics are provided, the solution drastically reduced the number of files served for easier maintenance. AldoMedia also implemented clean URL structures, regional pages, and structured data while addressing 65 accessibility issues from their scanner.
