AAVE runs 20+ networks and cuts latency 3-5x with Alchemy

AAVE, the largest onchain lending protocol in decentralized finance, faced the challenge of needing to provide consistently accurate, real-time data across more than 20 blockchain networks to its users. This was critical for users to properly manage their positions and loans. The scale and spiky nature of their traffic, especially during launches and upgrades, required exchange-grade reliability that was difficult to achieve with self-hosted infrastructure.

To solve this, AAVE implemented Alchemy's Node RPC APIs, Wallet APIs, and Cortex engine. Alchemy provided the reliable, low-latency data infrastructure needed for AAVE's protocol and consumer apps, including handling traffic spikes above 2 million compute units per second. The results were significant, including a 3-5x latency reduction after migrating to Cortex and the successful launch of V4, which attracted over $275 million in deposits in under four months. Alchemy's solution has powered over $3 trillion in deposits for AAVE, providing the dependable infrastructure needed for its global scale.
