Case Study: Maze Feedback achieves scalable, high-performance web caching and faster page performance with Alachisoft NCache

A Alachisoft Case Study

Preview of the Maze Feedback Case Study

MAZE figured that by keeping cache on the web server, they would get good performance and at the same time minimize network traffic

Maze Feedback, a performance-improvement SaaS with offices in Oslo, London and Sydney, runs a data‑intensive web application (1,000–4,000 unique users and 20,000–90,000 page views per day) and faced scalability problems with ASP.NET’s InProc cache. Because multiple application pools and servers couldn’t share or clear cache across processes, the site suffered duplicated data fetches and poor page performance. Maze Feedback selected Alachisoft and its NCache product to address the need for an out‑of‑process, distributed caching solution.

Alachisoft deployed NCache as a shared, out‑of‑process cache hosted on Maze’s web servers, giving all application pools and servers a common, synchronized cache (including automatic ViewState caching). The result: Maze can cache most of its data, eliminate innumerable database trips (pages now perform between about 4 to 2,000 SQL/cache fetches depending on content), avoid duplication and integrity issues, and add or remove cache servers at runtime with no downtime—delivering noticeably better page performance and easier scaling.
