MetLife, a global insurer with 48,000 employees serving over 100 million customers, faced a productivity problem: director-level staff were receiving 75–100 emails weekly with action items from 37 disparate systems, creating friction in approval and task workflows. To solve this, MetLife engaged Akumina to deliver an employee collaboration solution built on Akumina’s platform — a branded Workspace Dashboard.
Akumina implemented the Workspace Dashboard inside MetLife’s Office 365 tenant, using configurable JavaScript widgets to integrate 37 systems (including Ariba, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, Oracle PeopleSoft, Salesforce, DB2, Kaltura, SQL and Office 365 services). The dashboard gives employees a personalized daily preview, consolidated tasks and notifications, and one-click approval capabilities; MetLife reports that Akumina’s solution saved executives time previously spent logging into multiple systems, sped up approval-related processes, and materially increased productivity and business-process lifecycle speed.
