Loro Piana launches blockchain traceability with AKQA and 20 NFT artworks

The Italian luxury brand Loro Piana needed to enhance transparency and authenticity for its exclusive The Gift of Kings® collection. Partnering with AKQA and leveraging the Aura Blockchain Consortium's technology, the challenge was to provide traceability for its vertically integrated production process.

AKQA developed a web application where customers scan a QR code on garments to trace the item's journey from raw fiber to store. The solution also included a series of limited edition NFTs depicting the creation process. This initiative successfully launched at a new store opening, generating positive media coverage. As a result, Loro Piana plans to extend AKQA's blockchain traceability technology across all its Excellence collections, achieving a new standard of 360-degree transparency for the brand.
