Case Study: Tindr Knowtaker achieves scalable, AI-driven note-to-action automation with Akka

A Akka Case Study

Preview of the Tindr Knowtaker Case Study

Tindr Knowtaker

Tindr is a software consultancy that built Knowtaker to address a common problem in the move from paper to digital notes: important actions, dates and contacts get lost in cloud-based notebooks and are “out of sight, out of mind.” Users with Evernote, Google Keep or other note systems weren’t reliably reviewing or acting on the items they captured, making it hard to convert notes into tasks.

Knowtaker’s AI inspects users’ notes, identifies significant phrases (tasks, calendar items, contacts) and routes them to the user’s chosen action systems (for example creating to-dos in Google Tasks). Built on the Typesafe Platform—Akka for scalable, asynchronous processing and Play/Scala for a flexible web front end—the solution automates extraction and delivery at scale, is extensible for new AI engines and integrations, and is already available as an MVP.
