Hewlett Packard Enterprise transforms customer experience with near real-time insights

HPE InfoSight, HPE’s predictive analytics platform, needed to move beyond batch-processing to deliver near real-time insights from a global fleet of sensors — over 20 billion sensors producing trillions of metrics and petabytes of telemetry. The challenge was building an always-on, self-healing, massively elastic infrastructure that could process streaming data at scale so customers could get actionable AI-driven guidance in seconds and minutes instead of hours or days.

HPE partnered with Lightbend to implement a Fast Data reference architecture—microservices (Akka/Lagom), streaming engines (Akka Streams, Spark), Kafka as a data backplane, MLlib, orchestration and monitoring—to provide resilient, elastic stream processing and 24/7 support. The solution enabled near real-time predictions and automated remediation, accelerated time-to-value, became a blueprint for other HPE units, and is being deployed to top customers.
