Tarkett renovates its product data management and restructures its sales model with Akeneo PIM

Tarkett, a global leader in floor coverings, was struggling with fragmented, inconsistent product data across autonomous regional business units and needed to restructure its sales model and customer relationships. To regain control of product information as a business asset, Tarkett chose Akeneo and deployed Akeneo PIM (with OpenText for DAM) to standardize attributes and support a phased, multi-country rollout.

Akeneo implemented a common data model and integrated sources (SAP, suppliers, marketing, OpenText) into a single PIM used by ~60 users to manage a catalog planned to reach 200,000 SKUs across 30 Drupal webstores and e‑commerce channels. Akeneo’s solution improved data quality and completeness, centralized color/size/material databases, streamlined product–media links, enabled personalized multichannel experiences and better retailer search, and supported faster rollout of customizable product services.
