Case Study: Frankfurt Airport achieves seamless multi-merchant commerce with Akeneo

A Akeneo Case Study

Preview of the Frankfurt Airport Case Study

Frankfurt Airport - Customer Case Study

Frankfurt Airport, one of Europe’s largest air transportation hubs, wanted to transform its traditional, offline retail model into a digital, omnichannel commerce experience for passengers and retailers. The airport needed a way to combine the interests of many standalone retail providers with its own operations, while delivering relevant services and product information at the right time and place. Akeneo and its PIM platform were chosen to help manage the complex product data across the new e-commerce suite.

Akeneo implemented a centralized, easy-to-integrate PIM that let retailers import, enrich, translate, and manage product information in one place. The solution connected more than 30 systems and supported multiple touchpoints such as e-commerce, apps, airport desks, and catalogs, enabling a seamless shopping experience across channels. As a result, Frankfurt Airport created a new marketplace-style commerce suite for over 300 retailers, with faster onboarding and up-to-date product data delivered across all relevant channels.
