DEVENTRADE, a Dutch family‑owned sporting goods manufacturer, faced fragmented product information across ERP systems and spreadsheets with no central product database. Managing 20,000 products in 1,000 variant groups and publishing to multiple sites was manual and slow (website updates only four times a year), so DEVENTRADE chose Akeneo PIM (open‑source) to centralize and enrich product data and support multichannel distribution.
Akeneo implemented the PIM and the PIM2Catalog connector in a four‑month project with an integrator and three core users, expanding product records to about 90 attributes. As a result, DEVENTRADE now updates sites daily instead of quarterly, connects 14 e‑commerce sites (with more planned), produces multilingual print catalogs faster and more accurately, sends standardized feeds to resellers, and has measurably improved data quality and time‑to‑market.
