Akeneo brightens up SLV product and catalog management process

SLV, the Übach‑Palenberg–based lighting manufacturer, faced slow, error‑prone product and catalog management driven by Excel sheets, fragmented systems (SAP, SharePoint) and time‑consuming multilingual processes for some 8,000 SKUs across 13 subsidiaries and 38 countries. During its digitization effort the company selected Akeneo, first trialing Akeneo Community Edition and then implementing Akeneo PIM Enterprise Edition to centralize and modernize product information management.

Akeneo implemented a centralized PIM that consolidated data sources, enabled real‑time global access for ~180 users, and supported dynamic publishing with partner inBetween for print catalogs. The solution cut enrichment time for eCommerce data by 80%, reduced translation management time by about 60%, eliminated most Excel workflows, accelerated catalog production (including the 400,000‑copy “Big White”), and was rolled out in three months with 170 users trained in the first month—delivering faster, more compliant product distribution across SLV’s global channels.
