Global Insurance Company, a top 10 insurer with $22 billion in annual revenue, turned to Akana to support a large-scale IT modernization effort. The company needed to move beyond heavyweight ESBs and a monolithic .NET backend, where changes took six months or more to deploy, in order to gain agility, improve buying and selling processes, and expand its market reach.

Using the on-premises Akana platform with a hybrid option, Global Insurance Company implemented API management and microservices capabilities to manage service lifecycles, automate partner onboarding, design and document APIs, and strengthen security across internal and external APIs. With Akana, the company has already put the Akana API Gateway into production and is advancing portal branding and onboarding workflows, laying the groundwork for a more agile DevOps model and faster modernization.
