Vingle is an interest-based mobile and web community launched in 2012 with about 3,000 communities across 30 countries, 10 million monthly users and 300 million monthly page views. Although the service worked well in Korea, Vingle struggled to diagnose and resolve performance problems in other regions and could not reliably handle sudden, unpredictable traffic spikes (sometimes over 10x normal volume), which caused downtime and slow content loads despite cloud infrastructure.
