WealthNavi Deploys Akamai Enterprise Threat Protector to Increase Malware Protection and Secure Off-Network Laptops

WealthNavi is a Tokyo-based FinTech asset manager serving over 320,000 customers with more than ¥280 billion under management. Facing strict industry guidance on cybersecurity and handling highly sensitive customer data, the company sought stronger, long-term malware prevention—especially to protect laptops used offsite—beyond its existing firewalls, EPP, and EDR tools.

After a proof of concept, WealthNavi deployed Akamai Enterprise Threat Protector, which required no endpoint changes and was enabled simply by updating DNS settings. The solution delivered full web-traffic visibility, blocked malware and phishing sites, cut endpoint alerts by about 50%, reduced remediation workload, and extended protection to off-network laptops via a lightweight client.
