Preview of the Alliant Credit Union Case Study

Prolexic DDoS protection safeguards online access for Alliant Credit Union members

Alliant Credit Union, the sixth largest U.S. credit union with more than 280,000 members, relies heavily on remote electronic channels—about 50,000 daily logins—to provide nationwide online and mobile banking. Faced with the risk of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and without a dedicated 24/7 in-house DDoS team, Alliant needed fast, reliable mitigation (including both proxy and routed services) and assurance that multiple simultaneous attacks could be handled with minimal downtime.

Alliant chose Prolexic Routed and implemented a phased deployment that provided immediate protection and a seamless cutover during testing. Together they developed a DDoS run book integrated into Alliant’s incident response plan, added NetFlow monitoring for early warning, and confirmed mitigation could be enacted in hours with no disruption to site performance or added latency—ensuring continued availability for members and stronger, proactive protection of assets.
