LIXIL Accelerates Zero Trust Adoption with Akamai Enterprise Application Access

LIXIL, a global manufacturer of building materials and residential equipment operating in 150+ countries, faced a fragmented IT landscape from acquisitions, with inconsistent UI/UX, multiple identity systems, legacy authentication, and a poor VPN-based remote experience that hindered digital transformation and work‑from‑anywhere initiatives.

To address this, LIXIL adopted Akamai Enterprise Application Access, a cloud-based Zero Trust Network Access solution that provides identity‑aware authentication via connectors on Akamai’s global edge. The deployment eliminated VPN network access, delivered a consistent access policy for employees and partners, enabled secure access to more than 600 applications for 180,000 users (including non‑web apps via an EAA client), and accelerated the company’s digital transformation while improving security and performance.
