H.I.S. Co., Ltd., a major travel agency with 556 locations in 71 countries, needed faster, secure, and more manageable network access as its online bookings and interconnected systems grew. Traditional VPNs were costly, complex, and created bottlenecks—especially for smaller overseas offices—limiting reliable access to internal applications and customer data.

H.I.S. deployed Akamai Enterprise Application Access (EAA), a browser-based, connector-enabled service with multi-factor authentication that avoids VPN and firewall reconfiguration. The quick, low-cost rollout gave per-user access control to only required apps, restored access for smaller branches, improved speed and security, reduced management costs, and enabled better support for remote and mobile work.
