Akamai solutions help the largest government-owned bank in the Philippines protect eBanking services against cyber threats

LANDBANK, the largest government-owned bank in the Philippines with a nationwide branch and ATM network, was expanding eBanking services and confronted a rising trend of DDoS attacks and data breaches. The bank needed to protect its customer-facing applications (DDoS, DNS, and application-layer threats), simplify its digital transformation with a trusted partner, and gain the ability to detect and respond quickly to incidents.

PLDT recommended Akamai’s cloud security and CDN, which delivered always-on protection, fast deployment (saving an estimated five months versus hardware) and an average origin offload of 87.5%. Akamai blocked 100% of incoming malicious traffic, defended LANDBANK against DDoS, DNS and application attacks, reduced load on internal security devices, and provided analytics for continuous WAF tuning and improved security posture.
