Fiat Group Automobiles, Italy’s largest automotive manufacturer, runs corporate and multiple brand websites in about 50 languages and a global B2B portal (Fiat Link). After finding slow page loads and high abandonment in some countries, rising mobile traffic, and inconsistent dealer portal performance, Fiat needed to improve site responsiveness and ensure a consistent, high-quality online experience worldwide.

Fiat deployed Akamai Dynamic Site Accelerator (DSA) Secure, Akamai Mobile Detection & Redirect, and Akamai Web Application Accelerator (WAA) to speed dynamic content, serve mobile-optimized pages, and accelerate the dealer portal. The result: global website performance improved an average of 195% (peaks of 281%), Alfa Romeo page display times dropped 66%, mobile first‑hit performance and redirection improved, and Fiat Link saw 25–30% gains in Europe and 300–400% in Brazil and China—delivering a smoother global user experience and better dealer productivity.
