WalkMe, a digital adoption platform provider serving 2,000 customers and 35 million users, was facing rapidly rising Apache Kafka costs as data volumes grew. To keep performance and reliability high while controlling infrastructure spend, the company turned to Aiven for Kafka.

Aiven implemented a BYOC model on WalkMe’s existing Google Cloud Platform environment along with tiered storage, reducing reliance on expensive SSDs and keeping data within required residency boundaries. With Aiven, WalkMe cut Kafka TCO by 40%, reduced cluster storage by around 80%, and continued handling more than 100,000 events per second and peaks above 1 GB/sec while data traffic grew 30% year over year.
