OptioPay, a fintech that increases payments by offering higher‑value gift cards, faced the challenge of modernizing a legacy architecture while ensuring strict data security and regulatory compliance (PSD2, GDPR) for banking and insurance customers. To meet these needs they partnered with Aiven and adopted managed Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL and Kafka services.

Aiven provided managed Kafka, PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch and supported migration and stateful service operations, including deployment to Microsoft Azure Germany to satisfy data‑residency rules. As a result, Aiven reduced the time OptioPay engineers spend on database ops (backups and high‑availability), improved reliability and support, and allowed the company to remain compliant while focusing on its core business.
