Supermetrics, a Finland-based data integration company, faced the challenge of managing a sprawling, multi-cloud data infrastructure that had to serve customers across different regions and cloud providers. Manually updating databases in separate cloud environments like AWS and GCP was time-consuming and complex, and they needed a robust, scalable solution to ensure data sovereignty for their clients.

The vendor Aiven provided its open-source-based data platform, enabling Supermetrics to centrally manage their entire infrastructure. This solution allowed them to effortlessly move data and services between different clouds and regions, minimizing the impact on end-users. As a result, Supermetrics gained the ability to efficiently scale their operations, which now process billions of queries and transfer terabytes of data for over 17,000 customers, while also meeting stringent data residency requirements.
