La Redoute Takes Control of Cloud Costs with Aiven’s Bring Your Own Cloud on Microsoft Azure

La Redoute, the French home and fashion e-commerce retailer, needed to migrate its data infrastructure to Microsoft Azure to improve scalability and better handle seasonal traffic spikes such as Black Friday. Already using Aiven for Apache Kafka, the company also relied on Aiven for PostgreSQL and Aiven for OpenSearch to support growing data volumes and analytics needs.

Using the Aiven Platform and Aiven’s Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) model on Microsoft Azure, La Redoute migrated PostgreSQL, Kafka, and OpenSearch clusters with minimal disruption while improving control over cloud spending and security. Aiven helped the company reduce Azure-related TCO, cut the planned cost increase from 40% to 14%, and enable faster database deployments in minutes instead of weeks.
