Cybersecurity leader, Claroty, Cuts Apache Kafka® Costs in Half with Aiven BYOC

Claroty, a cybersecurity leader for critical infrastructure, needed to manage massive and fast-growing real-time data volumes while meeting strict compliance requirements for sensitive financial and medical data. As Kafka storage needs rose 5–10% each quarter, Claroty looked for a more cost-effective way to scale its Apache Kafka-based data streaming infrastructure. Aiven provided the platform and Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) model used in the project.

With Aiven for Apache Kafka on AWS using BYOC, Aiven helped Claroty right-size its clusters and optimize cloud usage, including Graviton instances and single-availability-zone communication. The result was a 72% reduction in Kafka TCO, 50% lower cloud infrastructure costs, and network costs reduced to almost zero, saving Claroty millions of dollars annually while improving compliance and scalability.
