Idealo, one of Europe’s leading price comparison platforms, needed to move its data infrastructure from on-premises systems to AWS to support rapid growth across markets and peak trading periods. With billions of offers processed and around 30 Kafka clusters to manage, the company needed a reliable way to scale its Apache Kafka environment without adding operational burden to internal teams.

Aiven provided managed Apache Kafka on AWS, with support for dual-mode connectivity during the migration, VPC peering, and Kafka Connect for data ingestion. The rollout moved from proof of concept to production in three months, and around 60 Kafka clusters are now managed by Aiven. As a result, Idealo reports greater reliability, easier cluster provisioning, and better scalability for high-demand events like Black Friday, freeing teams to focus on innovation.
