The UK Government's Government Digital Service (GDS) required a search service for its expansive GOV.UK Platform as a Service that met strict requirements for APIs, security, compliance, performance, and open source principles.

Aiven provided its Aiven for OpenSearch solution, which was chosen as the only shortlisted provider that published APIs to manage all aspects of the service. Aiven successfully met all of GOV.UK PaaS's requirements, extending a partnership that began in 2018 and eliminating the need for additional customer procurement or information assurance due diligence.
