The University of Edinburgh, one of the world’s top universities, needed a flexible way to manage large-scale print, copy, scan, and mobile printing across a complex campus environment for staff and students. AIT provided the Pcounter print management solution, alongside EveryonePrint for mobile printing and authentication via MiFARE-enabled card readers.

AIT implemented and has continued to support a highly tailored print environment, including quota-based charging, pull printing, and student credit management across 12 print servers, around 2,600 standard queues, and about 260 cloud devices. The results have been significant: the University processes around 44 million pages a year, and AIT’s solution has automatically deleted 11 million unwanted pages since 2012, saving costs and reducing environmental impact.
