Bournemouth University, a long-standing AIT customer, needed to replace unreliable card printers that were jamming and misprinting student ID cards. The university used pre-printed cards with AIT’s card software and SALTO access control, but its aging printers were slowing down card production, especially during busy intake periods.
AIT recommended replacing the old devices with Evolis Primacy printers, continuing to use CardExchange™ software. After a free month-long proof of concept and staff training, Bournemouth University deployed nine printers across both campuses with remote and onsite installation support, plus annual preventative maintenance. The result was a faster, more reliable ID card process with smoother intake days, no reported problems during September 2015/2016 intake, and a streamlined service the university would confidently recommend.
