Preview of the Rose City Rollers Case Study

Rose City Rollers refreshes its brand and website after 20 years with Airtype

Rose City Rollers, a world-championship roller derby league, partnered with Airtype for their first-ever rebrand and website overhaul. The challenge was to create a new visual identity that moved beyond the sport's clichés while honoring the league's heritage, and to rebuild an outdated, disorganized website that lacked functionality and was difficult for their volunteer-run organization to manage.

Airtype developed a comprehensive branding system centered on a star motif representing the jammer position, utilizing shades of purple and gradients to create a dynamic identity. They engineered a new, streamlined website with a custom backend for easy content management, using analytics to prioritize key features like live game footage on the homepage. The solution successfully modernized the league's brand and ushered them into a new era with a functional, easy-to-use digital presence.
