West Elm creates a sense of home with Airtable

West Elm’s Creative Operations team faced a major scaling challenge: produce and coordinate massive volumes of digital photography (over 1,000 unique images a week) across seven departments and distributed partners while relying on basic spreadsheets that caused manual work, typos, duplicate shoots, and a lack of a single source of truth. To solve this, West Elm selected Airtable as their vendor.

Airtable delivered centralized bases with automations and linked records so every photo and its metadata (SKU, dimensions, color, angles, shot lists) uploaded automatically and was visible to all stakeholders. Using Airtable connected roughly 250 people across eight teams, eliminated manual data entry and duplicate work, generated a surplus of website assets heading into 2020, and delivered about 85 hours of cost savings per week while restoring trust in their data.
